Numeracy
In October, we collected data from every pupil in the school on what they eat and what they would like to eat at break time. It was so interesting reading and analysing all the information. We enjoyed using our iPads to make tables, and present our work. We also used Microsoft Excel which was great for making graphs. We took part in an online discussion on Fronter that was open to girls in other classes too and there were some great suggestions for healthy breaks.
We collaborated with Miss McConnell’s Primary 4 class to analyse data on temperature in the school garden since September. We compared September and October’s temperature and worked out the average temperature each month. We can’t wait to see what November and December’s temperature is going to bring us!
At the minute we are working hard on decimals which fits in well with our Financial Capability leading up to the Christmas Fair. We are recycling jam jars to make lanterns and hoping that this will keep our costs for materials down. We did have to buy some glitter glue and ribbon but we will think seriously about how much to charge for each item and hopefully, our profits will be high!
