Mercy Primary welcome Little Amal to Belfast

Our P7s proudly welcomed Little Amal to Belfast on Thursday 16th May. Little Amal is a 12ft puppet representing a 10 year old Syrian refugee. As we are a school of sanctuary, and as we have been learning about emigration and migration as part of of our WAU theme, it was only fitting that our P7s welcomed Little Amal with a taste of Belfast street games. The girls travelled back in time to the 1940s.
However, our P7s did not just meet and greet Little Amal, they also got to meet the Lord Mayor in 2024!

A fantastic night for Belfast and for Mercy Primary-a school of sanctuary.
