Arts From These Parts
On Tuesday 3rd February, primary 4 and their parents were invited along to the Ulster Museum to visit an exhibition called “Arts From These Parts.” These paintings were from artist John Laverty. Grace remembers that John Laverty created over 400 paintings of his second wife. Katie-Leigh remembers how his mother and father died when he was only 3 years old and he lived with his aunt and uncle. Nicole remembers how he ran away from boarding school, and went to live with his aunt in Canada. John Laverty always wanted to be an artist, so he moved to France and decided to attend art school. Our class agreed that the trip was amazing! We all thought it was interesting, and enjoyed finding out lots of fun facts about John Laverty and his art. Have a look at our beautiful photos.
