Christmas Crafts in Primary Five

Christmas Crafts in Primary Five

Once again our annual Christmas craft project has provided a great variety of learning opportunities. Not only did the primary five pupils work very hard to create lovely Santas to sell but they were also able to come up with wonderful suggestions to solve the problems with which they were presented. These problems included "market research" when they compared prices of similar goods in different supermarkets, examining prices of different sizes of the same product, estimating and then investigating how many sweets could be put into each of the twenty five Santa sacks from one big tub of sweets. Next the girls had to decide how much to charge for each Santa so that they would make a profit. When the sums are completed and the profit is revealed the final challenge will be to decide how to spend the money. That should be fun!!
